Roomie reunion 2011

These lovely ladies were my college roomates my junior and senior year at FSU, the nursing school years, the mission years. Kayla L and Kayla B grew up together in Apalachicola and Andrea and I met our first day at FSU. We became fast friends and eventually all ended up together at University Club on White Drive in Tallahassee. These girls made hards days easier and sad days happier. They mean so much to me and I am so glad we were all finally able to meet up in Panama City Beach. We ate and played and talked all weekend. It was a blast!

She is a friend of mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order. It's good, you know, when you got a woman who is a friend of your mind. ~Toni Morrison, Beloved

My roomie reunion was amazing! More pics to share soon.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and a happy Monday.

I get to see these girlies tomorrow and I am soooooo excited. I lived with them my last two years at FSU. I love them all so much and can't believe we are all finally going be together again.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! I can't wait for mine to start!

The mandarin

Gabe as The Mandarin in Puccini's Turandot

Well I have to say, this might be one of my favorite operas yet. It was beautiful. The cast was great, especially the really tall guy in red.

In other opera news, we found out this week that Gabe will be singing an even bigger role than expected this summer at Utah Festival Opera. He was supposed to understudy or cover the role of  Danilo in The Merry Widow, but now he gets to do the whole kit and kaboodle. How exciting!!! So, it will technically be his first leading role for a professional opera company. I'm so proud of him and I know when you read this you will be too. ♥ ♥ ♥
Thanks everyone for all your continued support and love.

Recipe Challenge, take 3 and 4

I am a little behind on blogging about the new recipes I have tried. So, I will post two new ones that everyone loved!
First, who doesn't love the Cheddar Bay Bicsuits at Red Lobster? That's right no one. They are irresistable!!
So, when I came across a recipe on Tasty Kitchen I knew I had to try them. Even though it wasn't a meal, I thought they would be a perfect addition to soup, or anything quite honestly.

After I ate one fresh out of the oven, my first thought was "Homies, these are amazing!!!"

They are easy peasy, so go make them tonight!! I am already craving them again!

Then, this weekend, for my sister's housewarming party I made another Pioneer Woman creation called Sundried Tomato Pasta. I didn't take any close ups of the finished product, but here is a shot of the food table. It was a big hit. You make the dressing out of sundried tomatoes, garlic and olive oil pureed, then add your fresh ingredients and you're done!

Enjoy!

water and ice

This weekend included an unexpected trip to the beach. 79 degrees= <3

Then, as you would expect, a hockey game. That's right, a hockey team based in Pensacola.
Go Flyers! We had a blast!!

Happy almost Mardi Gras! I wore tons of beads at the game and no I did not work for them.
Wanna know what else, Moon Pies are kinda gross. We had some at the game.
